World Rookie Snowboard Finals 2024: The Snowboarders of the future impress in Austria
In perfect weather and park conditions, the slopestyle competition was decided on Wednesday.
In the Rookies (U19) category, 15-year-old Norwegian Fabian Hertzberg impressed with a frontside and backside 1080 on the kicker and confidently took the World Rookie Champion Slopestyle title.
Chinese rider Shirui Xiong came out on top in the girls’ category, taking the first World Rookie Champion title to China.
On Thursday, the focus was on the halfpipe.
Despite a bad weather front, the youngsters really showed off.
Success across the board for Team Korea, with Jio Lee (Rookie Boys) and his compatriot Suo Lee (Grom Boys) shined from the top step of the podium.
In the girls’ category, Switzerland’s Lura Wick triumphed in the Rookie Girls category and took the World Rookie Tour title for the second time in a row, though in the U15 category in 2023.
