Tennis Red Bull Bassline 2024 Vienna AUT Zverev GER
The matches were played in a unique tie-break format, where a player had to reach 5 points to win the set. The 5.300 fans were carried away by the pulsating music and experienced a tennis tournament of a different kind. Before and during the rallies, DJ Instyle heated up the crowd in the sold-out tennis tent on the grounds of the Wiener Stadthalle.
Germany’s Alexander Zverev wins the fourth edition of the Red Bull Bassline tournament in Vienna by best adapting to the entertaining tiebreak format and successfully defends his title from last year.
Zverev and the strong Australian Alexei Popyrin came out on top in their respective groups of three and went on to play each other in the final. In the thrilling match, which was played in a best-of-three format, Zverev again sent the crowd into raptures with incredible shots. He had to fend off four match points against the resilient Popyrin but, with his powerful serves, eventually prevailed 2-1 in sets.
