Team USA takes first-ever Continental Surf Cup win

Team USA has won the Continental Surf Cup in Chelan, Washington, for the first time in the competition’s history. On Lakeside Surf’s 16-meter-wide citywave, the US team defeated Team Europe 27.75 to 23.25 points after a thrilling weekend that remained undecided until the very last point.

Tean Europe delivered an outstanding performance, led by Germany’s Lennard Weinhold. With a score of 19.33 points, the four-time champion put on what may have been the strongest performance of his career in the men’s final, securing his fourth consecutive individual title. Weinhold narrowly edged out Cash Eygabroad (18.80), followed by Maximilian Lex (18.68) and Jose “Cacaro” Lopez (18.40). The team finals also highlighted just how closely contested the battle between Europe and the USA was: Weinhold and Lex represented Europe in the final, while Eygabroad and Lopez competed for the USA. In the end, however, Team USA had the crucial points on its side across the field, writing a new chapter in the history of the competition.

In the women’s competition, American Cash Hoover continued her impressive winning streak. She claimed both the Women’s Open individual title and the Best Trick title, further cementing her status as one of the most dominant athletes in the history of the Continental Surf Cup.
