On Sunday, August 30, 2026, Sölden once again became the center of the international cycling world as the 45th Ötztaler Radmarathon took place. The race got underway in pleasant temperatures and under clear blue skies, providing perfect conditions for the cyclists. The 227-kilometer route led from Sölden over four Alpine passes – Kühtaisattel, Brenner Pass, Jaufen Pass and Timmelsjoch – into South Tyrol and back to Sölden. Along the way, the participants had to conquer an incredible 5,500 meters of elevation gain. A total of 4,271 participants from 40 nations lined up at the start, voluntarily taking on this enormous physical and mental challenge.

n the men’s race, the decisive move came as early as the Jaufen Pass. On the climb, Canadian Jack Burke launched a decisive attack from the leading group and managed to break away from the rest of the field. With a tremendous effort, he held off the challenge of runner-up Daniel Federspiel (AUT) before the climb to the Timmelsjoch. Burke then steadily extended his lead and crossed the finish line in a new course record time of 6:29:21.2. Last year’s winner, Daniel Federspiel, finished 2 minutes and 35 seconds behind. Tyrolean Miguel Brugger (AUT) surprisingly claimed third place.

In the women’s race, German Janine Meyer took the victory. After dominating the race last year, she once again took the lead and managed to keep pace with the fastest men. She crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 7:15:46.2, smashing her own record from last year and setting a new record for the fastest woman ever at the Ötztaler Radmarathon. German Eva Schien finished second, 12 minutes and 24 seconds behind the winner. Austrian Melanie Geiger completed the podium in third place.
