Lapland Rookie Fest 2026 wraps up the Camp and kicks off the World Rookie Tour 2027 season in Levi
First slopestyle results drop under the Arctic sky as
the next generation kicks off the new season
The Lapland Rookie Camp 2026 successfully wrapped up at Levi Ski Resort, delivering four days of training, progression and international connection in one of the most unique spring destinations in Europe.
From April 27th to 30th, young freeskiers gathered in Levi to ride, learn and push their limits during daily snowpark sessions shaped by the Levi South Park Crew.
The camp once again proved to be more than just training: it’s where the next generation builds confidence, style and connections on the global stage.
The highlight of the week went down on April 30th with the Lapland Rookie Fest Freeski Slopestyle, officially marking the first scoring event of the new World Rookie Tour 2027 season.
Held under the Arctic evening light, the finals delivered a unique contest atmosphere, combining technical lines, creative riding and strong progression from all participants.
As the Arctic sun dipped and the lights came on, the moment everyone was waiting for finally arrived. Riders dropped in one after another, pushing style, flow and consistency to lock in the first results of the new season.
In the Rookie category, it was Finland’s Niila Johansen(FIN) who took control of the contest with a standout second run, scoring 92.66 and setting the benchmark for the season ahead. Close behind, Noel Nilivaara(FIN) secured second place, followed by Lassi Nurmela(FIN) in third, completing an all-Finnish podium.

In the Grom category, Sulo Ketola(FIN) claimed the win with a score of 35.66, showing confidence and solid execution despite the young field. Karlo Kauppinen (FIN) took second place, while Liam Sampson from the USA rounded out the podium in third.
A strong start for the next generation, and a clear signal: the level is already rising.
The Lapland Rookie Camp and the Freeski Slopestyle contest delivered an outstanding week of riding, progression and next-level energy, confirming Levi as one of the most unique stops on the tour. From training sessions to night finals, the vibe was on point and the level already high for the new season.
