LAAX OPEN 2025 – absolute impressive performances in Snowboard Halfpipe and Slopestyle | FIS World Cup
The LAAX OPEN 2025 presented by Zalando took place from January 14th to 18th. World and Olympic Champions, X-Games winners and former LAAX OPEN champions battle it out for the coveted titles. This year marks the 10th consecutive edition of this world-renowned freestyle event.
The performances in both snowboard disciplines were an absolute blast:
Chloe Kim (USA) & Scotty James (AUS) are the Snowboard Halfpipe night finals champions.
24-years old Chloe Kim (USA) performed a switch frontside double cork 1080 – world’s first trick by a woman.
Cameron Spalding (CAN), 2022 world junior champion and current Slopestyle World Cup leader, claims his second consecutive Slopestyle win of this season. Mia Brookes (GBR), 2023 world champion and 2024 X-Games gold medallist, wins the women’s Slopestyle.
The ultimate freestyle action culminated in Saturday’s Halfpipe night finals. The world’s biggest Halfpipe served as the perfect backdrop for a groundbreaking, world-first trick. In the women’s discipline, 24-years old Chloe Kim (USA) performed a switch frontside double cork 1080 that has never been performed by a woman to score 96.50 points for her winner run. The two-time Olympic and world champion secured her fifth LAAX OPEN title. The men’s finals were decided in a close battle with the best end for 30-years old Scotty James (AUS). The three-time world champion took his fourth victory at the LAAX OPEN and 95.75 points with a flawless run.
The Slopestyle finals in Snowboarding went off on Saturday afternoon. Cameron Spalding (CAN) was the man of the day, as the 2022 world junior champion and current Slopestyle World Cup leader, claimed his second consecutive Slopestyle win of this season with 86.63 points. In the women’s competition Mia Brookes (GBR), 2023 world champion and 2024 X-Games gold medalist, performed an impressive first run and scored 84.86 points. It is a special win for the Laax local as she celebrates her first ever LAAX OPEN title in her home resort, taking also the top spot in the overall rankings.

The LAAX OPEN 2025 presented by Zalando (official FIS World Cup) hosts two sport disciplines: snowboarding (Slopestyle & Halfpipe) and freesking (Slopestyle).
Europe’s most important snowboard freestyle event takes place for the 10th time in a row on the Crap Sogn Gion mountain at 2,252 metres above sea level – on which the mountain station is emblazoned like a galactic spaceship, the GALAAXY.
CHF 210,000 in prize money is up for grabs for the best of the best but who will win out of Olympic champions, world champions, newcomers – about 300 riders from 25 countries are keen to finish at the top at the tour’s most favourite event.
