The men’s final was played between the number 2 seedsAndre Baran (BRA) / Michele Cappelletti (ITA) and the number 1 seeds, who are also World Champions, Nicolas Gianotti (FRA) / Mattia Spoto (ITA). Baran & Cappelletti got off to a solid start, breaking Gianotti & Spoto in the first game. The favorites needed to respond in the second round and they did just that, taking a quick 4-0 lead to level the match at one set apiece and force a match tiebreak. Once again, the underdogs got off to a good start but were unable to hold on to their advantage. At 9-8, Gianotti served out a winner to give him and Spoto the victory and their first Sand Series Classic title in 2023.
In the women’s final, Patty Diaz of Venezuela and Rafaella Miller of Brazil had the chance to become the number 1 in the world if they had won the title in Saarlouis. However, the Italian duo Giulia Gaspari and Sofia Cimatti did not see it that way and managed to control the power of Miller and the touch of Diaz. The first set went to a tiebreak and the second ended 6-3. It is the third time that Cimatti has won in Saarlouis, where she clearly feels at home.
