Golden Roof Challenge 2026

 the 22nd edition of the Golden Roof Challenge took place in the heart of Innsbruck, Austria. Twenty-one international elite athletes competed in the pole vault and long jump events on “The FlySwat,” the world’s largest mobile athletics facility certified by World Athletics. Performing right in front of the spectators, they aimed to earn valuable world ranking points toward qualification for the European Championships in Birmingham.

The sensation of the evening was delivered by Paralympic long jumper Fleur Jong of the Netherlands, who had been invited as a special guest to this premier athletics event. She improved her own world record of 6.88 meters, which she had also set in Innsbruck the previous year.

The women’s long jump was won by African champion Nemata Nikiema (BFA), who improved her own personal best to 6.75 m. Second and third places went to Helena Börner (GER) with 6.45 m and Letitia Oro Melo (BRA) with 6.36 m. Sixteen-year-old local athlete Deborah Achleitner (AUT) equaled her own Austrian U18 record with 5.94 m and thereby qualified for the U18 European Championships.

The men’s long jump was also exceptionally strong, with Bozhidar Saraboyukov (BUL) equaling the meeting record from 2010 with a leap of 8.18 m. He was followed by Luka Herden (GER) with 7.70 m and Lionel Coetzee (NAM) with 7.67 m.

In the men’s pole vault, top American vaulter Olen Tray Oates secured a clear victory with 5.72 m. Second place was shared by Asian champion Husain Al Hizam (KSA) and Oleksandr Onifriev (UKR), both clearing 5.42 m.

The women’s pole vault was won by Juliana Campos (BRA) with 4.40 m, ahead of Apolena Švabíková (CZE), who also cleared 4.40 m and set a new personal best.
