FIRST RESULTS OF THE PHYGITAL CONTENDERS ASTANA 2026 QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT

The group stage revealed the first leaders in the fight for tickets to the Games of the Future 2026

On June 10, 2026, the first competitive day of the Phygital Contenders Astana 2026 international qualifying tournament, the final qualifying stage before the Games of the Future 2026 tournament, ended in Astana. The competition kicked off with phygital sports action at the Alau Ice Palace, Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace and Comfort Hotel Astana. International clubs entered the competition in three disciplines: Phygital Football, Phygital Basketball and Phygital Dancing.
RESULTS OF THE FIRST DAY: PHYGITAL FOOTBALL

The first day showed a high density of results. In Group A, Team Cyprus, defeated PANTHER PHYGX with a score of 93, consolidating the advantage both in the digital stage and on the field. Meanwhile Los Fieles for Peru defeated Lahore Athletics FC on the console with a score of 50, but the team from Pakistan managed to claim a draw in the physical stage to post a final score of 72.

In Group B, the match between Oeste SP (OSP) and FC Royal Haki saw a 0-0 draw in the digital stage, Oeste SP rallied on the 5v5 pitch to achieve a big victory with a final score of 91. Noname Club lost to Skoljke Katic with a score of 26, with the club from Croatia dominating the physical stage, scoring 5 unanswered goals.

In Group C, NS Team beat JR Style in a close fought battle, ending in a score of 21, while MNK team defeated Misa Esports with a score of 132, showing total dominance on thew pitch after losing in the digital stage.

In Group D, KMF Titograd played FC Olympic Phygital with a score of 32, retaining the advantage after winning in the simulator. ACF x Allur Club defeated FC Ararat-Armenia with a score of 52.

RESULTS OF THE FIRST DAY: PHYGITAL BASKETBALLIn Group A, VOZDOVAC from Serbia confidently beat BOCA with a score of 39 25, dominating across both stages. ZAGREBACKI MALISANI NITUI gave GEPCO no chance, finishing the match with a score of 4015.

The second stage of Group A, saw VOZDOVAC defeat GEPCO with a score of 4023 in a tense match. The team secured an advantage in the digital stage and managed to extend their lead further on the court, whileBOCA  beat Team Elites in a close fought competition, finally securing the victory with a score of 3937. Group B saw another tense match-up with MINSK snatching victory over TRIADA with a score of 2827 as the club from Belarus took a strong early lead in the digital stage and maintained that lead under heavy pressure on the court. VALENCIA BASKET defeated ARENA BULLS 3723.

However, the second stage saw MINSK confidently beat VALENCIA BASKET with a score of 3022, with strong performances across both the digital and physical stages. TRIADA also defeated UZBEK HYPER HOOPS with a score of 3728, managing to turn the tide of the match with a strong performance on the court.

QUALIFICATION: PHYGITAL DANCING

Combining rhythm with digital gameplay, Phygital Dancing saw 11 athletes compete in 1-on-1 duels, performing dances to the tracks Dagomba, Isidora and Yameen Yasar in the Just Dance simulator. Each performer was ranked according to the sum of points for three rounds to decide the top eight quarterfinalists.

Following the results of performances, the atheletes progressing to the final stage of the competition – and one step closer to the final remaining qualification slots for the Games of the Future 2026 – are:

  1. Susan Huertas (39,401 points)
  2. Sergio Mayta (39,199 points)
  3. Andres Guardo (39,126 points)
  4. Sagdi (38,974 points)
  5. Viagonce (38,930 points)
  6. Luis Carlos Soto (38,545 points)
  7. Atakan Eren (38,394 points)
  8. Lala Gevorgyan (37,040 points)
These eight will now face off in the quarterfinals on June 11
