Brazil Men’s Team and Spain Women’s Team win the 2024 NEOM Beach Soccer Cup

Brazil win 6-1 against UAE.

Defending champions Brazil faced UAE in the NEOM Beach Soccer Cup 2024 final, as both sides looked to attain glory in Saudi Arabia.

Goalkeeper Bobô opened the scoring for the Brazilians in the first period, as goals from Mauricinho and Thanger followed, taking a three-goal lead into the second period.

It took until the final minute of the second period for the fourth goal of the match to be scored and it went the way of the defending champions once again with Benjamin Jr finding the net with 38 seconds remaining.

UAE goalkeeper Humaid netted his nation’s first goal of the final, but the Brazilians were lethal in front of goal once again as Rodrigo and Bruno Xavier scored Brazil’s fifth and sixth goals of the game to seal the title in NEOM once again.

3rd/4th place
In the bronze medal match, Spain defeated Germany 2-1 as Kuman and Chiky Ardil got their names on the score sheet for their nation, with Germany’s only goal coming courtesy of Olli.

5th/6th place
Japan 
defeated England 8-2 on the final day in NEOM, securing fifth place in the competition and England finishing sixth.
7th/8th place
Hosts Saudi Arabia 
finished on a high on the final day of action, defeating China, to finish in seventh place.
Individual awards
During the awards ceremony in NEOMthree individual awards were given out to the top performers from the men’s competition. The ‘Best goalkeeper’ award was given to Bobô, the ‘MVP’ award was handed to Thanger and the ‘Top scorer’ award was won by Takaaki Oba.

The Spaniards defended their title in NEOM

Spain win 4-1 against Brazil.

After coming out on top against Brazil in the NEOM Beach Soccer Cup final 2023, Spain looked to defend their title against a strong Brazilian side in this year’s final.

The deadlock was broken inside four minutes of the opening period as Paqui Campoy fired her shot into the top corner for the first goal of the match, and Spain’s lead was doubled minutes later as Carol Glez found the back of the Brazilian net.

Things got even better for the defending champions in the second period with Jessi firing the ball home inside the first minute of the period. Brazil captain Bárbara reduced the deficit for her team, but opposition captain Andrea Mirón responded swiftly from distance to restore Spain’s two-goal advantage.

With the final period producing no goals from either side, Spain successfully defended their NEOM Beach Soccer Cup title.

3rd/4th place
In the match to decide third place in the women’s competition it was Ukraine who came out on top against Englandwinning 5-4 and goals coming from VypasniakSkybinaBavzeniuk and a brace from Terekh, who scored the winner.

Individual awards
During the awards ceremony in NEOMthree individual awards were given out to the top performers from the women’s competition. The ‘Best goalkeeper’ award was given to Laura Gallego, the ‘MVP’ award was handed to Andrea Mirón and the ‘Top scorer’ award was won by Natalia Cuadrado.
